Quantum
Poet. Educator. An explorer of the meeting between scientific thought and poetic creation.
Based in Canada
An educator based in Canada and a recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal, he brings longstanding interests in poetry and physics into his writing. He also gives talks on quantum mechanics and its history.
His father studied physics and wrote classical Chinese poetry. His own studies in atomic and molecular physics, work in science and technology education, and reading of Chinese and Western poetry gradually came together in his creative practice.
As an advocate of Scientism Poetry, he develops its theoretical framework and methods of composition. His writing explores how scientific philosophy, theory, method, and structure can contribute to poetic language, form, imagination, and feeling.
An open conversation.
Curiosity brings us together.
Poetry keeps the conversation open.
We welcome readers, poets, scientists, and anyone interested in the possibilities of language. Scientism Poetry is a shared point of inquiry; poems from other traditions are welcome in the conversation too.
Chinese and English Facebook community links will be added here when the official addresses are confirmed.
What kind of conversation do we encourage?
Share close readings, discuss creative choices, and ask questions with curiosity and respect. Credit the author when sharing work and distinguish a scientific account from a poetic interpretation.
