Scientific Perception and Human Experience
Scientific understanding gives intimacy another scale and sometimes another language.
A journey has measurable distance and duration, yet it may also be a return to childhood or a departure from home. Scientific understanding can deepen these experiences without displacing their intimacy.
Growth, change, and irreversibility can sharpen the feeling that no moment repeats exactly. A voice, coffee, or a walk in the rain becomes vivid as attention moves between immediate sensation and the wider process in which it participates.
Knowledge offers relationships; writing discovers what they mean in this life and this moment. A technical term or unusual form belongs when it helps the poem express that discovery. Thought, feeling, and form develop together.
